Teaching Areas Forensic Psychiatry: the interface of psychiatry and the law. Landmark Cases: legal cases that pertain to mental health. Research Areas Informed Consent; Death Penalty and Death Row Inmates; Mental Health Knowledge and Law Enforcement Agencies; Mental Illness and Psychopathy. Clinical Interests Forensic Psychiatry: criminal evaluations (competency to stand trial/ criminal responsibility, competency to withdraw appeals/to be executed) and civil evaluations (personal injury, malpractice, fitness for duty, sexual harassment, post conviction relief, testamentary capacity, guardianship). Correctional Psychiatry: psychiatric treatment in prison population. |
