Teaching Areas Dr Hess teaches medical students at all levels, supervises graduate students, and serves on the advisory committee of MD-PhD students. Dr Hess lectures in many MCG CME courses. He is also a reviewer for Practical Reviews in Neurology, an audiotape series sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology. Research Areas Dr Hess's current research interests include the acute inflammatory response in stroke and methods to inhibit endothelial activation of NF-kB; the use of bone marrow-derived stem cells to regenerate the brain after stroke; and the planning and coordination of clinical trials to prevent stroke. Clinical Interests Dr Hess is the Clinical Service Chief for Neurology at MCG. Dr Hess is a specialist in Cerebrovascular Disease and Stroke. He is actively involved in the MCG Stroke Program Stroke Service. He sees outpatients with a wide variety of neurological problems. |
