Teaching Areas I am responsible for the lectures concerning aspirin and NSAIDs in the Medical Pharmacology and Undergraduate Pharmacology course. I also participate in Graduate courses where I have lectured on Mechanisms of Vasodilation and Microarrays in Drug Discovery.
Research Areas My lab has 3 main research areas that all center around the vasoactive mediators, nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin (ET). 1) Regulation of the NO and ET pathways in the kidney, 2) Functional analysis of NO synthase in vascular smooth muscle, and 3) Regulation of wound healing by NO and other mediators.
Clinical Interests The main focus of this research is to determine if there is a correlation between the laboratory studies and the human. These studies, in collaboration with investigators of the Georgia Prevention Institute, focus on the role of ET and NO in different aspects of human physiology.
